SARASOTA — The Hilton Garden Inn Sarasota-Bradenton Airport and a Hampton Inn on Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota will undergo $3 million in upgrades with a new management group.

That group, Greenbelt, Md.-based Chesapeake Hospitality, added the hotels to its portfolio in late November, according to a release.

The 115-room Hilton Garden Inn and the 121-room Hampton Inn, near Interstate 75, have heated outdoor pools, free WiFi and 24-hour business centers, the release states. The Hilton Garden Inn Sarasota-Bradenton Airport lobby, moreover, was recently updated to fit the national brand's “project grow” initiative. Chesapeake, the release states, will invest the $3 million on additional updates at both properties.

Based outside Washington, D.C., Chesapeake has 27 hotel properties in its portfolio carrying the Hilton, Starwood and InterContinental Hotel Group brands.
