TAMPA — Health Integrated Inc. announced Brad Fluegel, senior vice president and chief strategy officer for Walgreen Co., joined the health care company's board of directors in July.

In his role at Walgreens, the nation's largest drugstore chain, Fluegel executes corporate strategy, business development and project management. Fluegel joined Walgreens in October 2012. He previously was with Health Evolution Partners, a private-equity firm for health care companies. He also has served as executive vice president and chief strategy and external affairs officer for Wellpoint and had a leadership role at Aetna.

"Brad joins our board during a tremendous time of opportunity and growth, and we are honored to have him," says Shan Padda, chairman and chief executive officer of Health Integrated in a statement. "With his experience in creating business strategies for integrated care programs, Brad brings to our board a deep insight about the value of care coordination, which is especially needed for vulnerable populations."

Health Integrated manages health care costs by helping meeting the needs of underserved individuals. It works to lower costs for commercial, Medicaid and Medicare health plans by using behavioral sciences to serve their members.
