SARASOTA — The dental practice management business is a hot industry these days, with two local companies recently announcing expansions.

Sarasota-based Dynamic Dental Partners, for example, acquired My Family Dental Centers in Mesa, Ariz., and KLR Management, a multi-location full-service dentist group in Virginia. Terms of the deals weren't disclosed.

Dynamic Dental Partners, according to a release, now oversees 31 practices spread through Florida, Arizona and Virginia. The firm, founded in 1998, has completed a total of 26 deals for practices and groups. It also recently announced an investment from Huron Capital Partners, a Detroit-based private equity firm.

“We are excited about the addition of these new companies to our organization, and for our continuing ability to attract market-leading dental groups,” Dynamic Dental Partners CEO Dr. Alex Giannini says in a statement. “Through our recent partnership and capital infusion from Huron Capital Partners, we are able to couple their financial resources and operational expertise with our industry experience to expand our footprint.”

Sarasota-based Dental Care Alliance also announced a merger earlier this week, of the Miami Center for Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry. Dental Care Alliance is now affiliated with more than 75 dental practices in Florida, a release states. The firm, founded in 1991, manages 150 general and specialty dental practices in eight states.

Those deals follow the recent growth at Sarasota-based Sebring Software. The firm raised $66 million from Wall Street investment bankers last year to propel its acquisition strategy. Sebring currently has 34 dental practices in its portfolio, with 31 in Florida and three in Arizona.
