When he's not worrying about the state of the banking industry, Alex Sanchez has another big concern: football injuries.

Sanchez, the president and CEO of the Florida Bankers Association, is an avid football fan and he's worried about lopsided college games and the potential for player head injuries.

In a letter he penned recently, Sanchez says he's concerned about lower-ranked teams playing top-tier teams and smaller players getting seriously injured. He says some of these weaker opponents play top-ranked teams for the large television fees they generate and put themselves in jeopardy as a result.

“If you were a parent of one of the young men playing football at a Division II school, how would you feel if your son was seriously injured against a major powerhouse Division I school, all for your son's school receiving a big payday?” Sanchez writes. “While we are cheering our teams to win 70-0, let us remember those young men playing on the other side are not physically prepared and ready for this level of competition.”

Now, about those pesky credit unions...
