Business coalition adds members

The three new board members for the South Manatee Business Coalition (SMBC) are Robert Anderson, dean of the College of Business at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee; William Beverly, leader of the financial center at BB&T and Mohammad Gharavi, general manager of the Holiday Inn Sarasota Bradenton Airport, according to a news release.

SMBC is a nonprofit organization that strives to strengthen economic success in Manatee and Sarasota counties.

Gregg Anderson, chair of the SMBC board, says of the new additions in a release, “They bring passion, skills and resources that will be critical to our long-term success.”

The coalition has corporate partnerships with Brighthouse, MGA Insurance, the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast Builders Exchange and Manatee County. Its board already includes representatives from the following entities: SCORE, Suncoast Workforce, Couture Financial, Mills Gilbane, Digital Image Business Solutions, James LaManna CPA, Moore, Fowinkle & Schroer Agency, Najmy Thompson, and Waste Pro Bradenton.
