FORT MYERS — The Realtor association in the Fort Myers area is seeking a new CEO.

Peggy Hummel resigned in September as the CEO of the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach, and the group is seeking a new candidate to replace her. The association is the eighth-largest Realtor organization in the state with more than 4,350 members.

Real estate consultant Jerry Matthews has been tapped to lead the search. “Jerry's long tenure as the past CEO of Florida Realtors and his solid background in the real estate industry, gives him a deep understanding of the kind of leadership that our dynamic, multifaceted organization needs,” says Marion Briggs, the association's president, in a statement.

The Fort Myers association was founded 89 years ago and members include both residential and commercial brokers.
