Florida has again scored high in a national survey of executives who ranked state's business climates.

The latest coup comes courtesy of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand LLC, a New York-based tax-consulting firm. The survey, of 800 CFOs, reported that Texas, Florida, and Nevada were the most competitive when it comes to taxes, while California, New York, and New Jersey were the least competitive.

“With competition for corporate headquarters and the jobs that come with them increasing in the face of a challenging economy, it will be interesting to see if states modify their taxing systems in an aggressive attempt to retain contracts and attract new business,” says A&M Taxand Managing Director Don Roveto in a release.

Florida ranked second this year in Chief Executive magazine's annual survey of the best states to do business in, behind Texas. That survey was published earlier this month.
