FORT MYERS — Interop Technologies says it will provide Cellcom wireless-phone subscribers in Wisconsin and Michigan with a government-alert system.

The government now requires cell-phone operators to provide a system to disseminate alerts such as imminent threats or missing children. The Federal Emergency Management Administration ensures compliance and certifies such systems.

Based in Fort Myers, Interop provides wireless-phone operators with software to manage millions of subscriber messages.
