County commissioner sentenced

TAMPA — Former Hillsborough County Commissioner and Tampa Councilman Kevin White was sentenced Monday to three years in prison.

White, 47, was convicted of public corruption in November, including conspiracy, bribery, wire fraud and lying to the FBI.

His sentencing Monday by District Judge James D. Whittemore included an additional three years of supervision and 300 hours of community service after he is released from prison. Further, Whittemore ordered White to pay a $7,500 fine and a $700 special assessment.
