Here's another sign that the economy is improving: People are splurging on chocolates from Fort Myers-based confectioner Norman Love.

The chocolatier reports that Feb. 13 was the company's single most profitable day since it opened its doors in 2001. (For the guys who forgot, that's the day before Valentine's Day.)

Norman Love's 38 employees make more than 30,000 pieces of chocolates each day by hand. These artisanal bite-sized pieces of heaven sell online for $32 for a 15-piece box.

Norman Love recently opened a second chocolate salon in Naples. The other one is located in Fort Myers, near the newly built JetBlue Park, the new spring training stadium for the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
