FORT MYERS — Yippy Inc., a provider of family friendly Internet search engines, says it plans to acquire Vancouver, Canada-based Macte Labs.

Terms of the deal will be disclosed when the transaction is scheduled to close, on or before June 30, the companies say.

Macte Labs develops tool bars and other technology to help people browse the Internet more effectively. Such tool bars are also useful for Internet content providers to communicate with their subscribers. Founded in 2008, Macte has 20 employees.

Yippy is headquartered in Fort Myers and its stock is publicly traded (symbol: YIPI; recent price: $1.14). The company provides family friendly search engines that filter inappropriate content for younger users.
