Health facility accredited

FORT MYERS — An independent accrediting agency of health care facilities has reaccredited Lee Mental Health Center for three years.

The Fort Myers-based center helped nearly 11,000 patients last fiscal year, a 27% increase over the last fiscal year and the most in the nonprofit agency's 42-year history.

Lee Mental Health Center provides services at two campuses in Fort Myers. It is an independent charity chartered in 1969 and it is not affiliated with hospital operator Lee Memorial Health System.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities reaccredited Lee Mental Health Center for the next three years, stating in a report that the center provides excellent care.
