SARASOTA — Joe Adamaitis, sales manager for Academy Mortgage Corp. in Sarasota, has been appointed president of the Gulf Coast Mortgage Bankers Association, according to a news release.

Adamaitis was vice president of the association for the 2011-2012 term, and has 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry. An author on mortgage issues, Adamaitis is a member of the Mortgage Alliance of Southwest Florida, and he will release his third publication on mortgage topics in the fall, says the release.

The Gulf Coast Mortgage Bankers Association is made up of residential loan origination companies, servicing companies and affiliated firms in the Sarasota, Bradenton and Venice areas. The organization is the local chapter of the Mortgage Bankers Association.

“We must continue and expand our community service,” says Adamaitis in the release. “We must continue to give back to the people we serve, and unite with our Realtor partners with continued education as it relates to serious regulatory pressures on us all.”
