TAMPA - Starting July 4, Island Travel and Tours began offering a Wednesday nonstop flight from Tampa to Cuba, according to a news release.

The added service means patrons can now choose from five weekly flights from Tampa to Cuba.

Bill Hauf, president of Island Travel and Tours, says the Wednesday flight was added because of customer demand.

“With the addition of mid-week flights, it gives great flexibility to travelers,” Hauf says in the release.

The Cuba services are expected to generate more than $650,000 for the Tampa International Airport. The flights are part of the airport's continuing strategy to expand international travel.
