SARASOTA — Sarasota County officials seek help from local businesses on assessing damage from Tropical Storm Debby.

The county commission joined Gov. Rick Scott in calling for a State of Emergency over the storm. Now officials want to assess the actual damage. “This information is vital as damage assessment teams continue to evaluate the effects of the storm,” a county release states.

Business owners can report damage, losses, closings, impediments to reopening or any other issues of concern to a private sector hotline. Business owners should call 850-410-1403 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily until further notice. Information can also be emailed to [email protected].
