NAPLES -- Collier County commissioners approved a $2.3 million incentive package for Arthrex Inc. to support the medical device manufacturer's efforts to hire 600 new employees.

Of the $2.3 million approved for Arthrex, $1.2 million will be paid out over five years through the county's Job Creation Investment Program; slightly more than $1 million will be realized through reduced impact fees; and the company may receive up to $25,000 through the county's Broadband Incentive Program.

In late 2011, Arthrex announced it would build a new facility on Oil Well Road in eastern Collier County and buy a warehouse near Daniels Parkway in Lee County, spending $35 million on the effort.
