FORT MYERS — Interop Technologies, a technology firm that helps cell phone operators manage messaging services, says it has formed a partnership with France-based Oberthur Technologies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Oberthur, based in Nanterre, France, is one of the world's largest providers of security systems for microprocessors called “smart cards.” The company's 5,700 employees work in 65 offices spread through 40 countries.

Oberthur plans to integrate Interop's systems to help cell phone companies manage and program subscriber handsets more efficiently.

Interop is privately held and headquartered in Fort Myers with an office in Dallas. The company was featured in the March 4, 2010 issue of the Business Review.
