NAPLES — The Naples Area Board of Realtors, known as NABOR, released data showing that Collier County home sales fell 5% for the first month of 2012 compared with January of the previous year.

The report separates homes sales into pending and closed categories, which moved in opposite directions in January. While pending sales for the month increased from 1,101 to 1,137 compared with the same month in 2011, closed sales fell from 548 to 520.

The median home price for Collier County increased from $178,000 to $179,000 for 2011 compared with the previous year, and sales of homes selling for more than $300,000 increased by roughly 1%, according to the association.
