Mortgage brokers fight back

A group of mortgage brokers, mostly in the Sarasota-Manatee market, have formed a support group, partially to combat some of the negative perceptions of the industry.

The group, the Mortgage Alliance of Southwest Florida, will promote “high professional standards and expert service...during these tumultuous times,” according to a press release. The release further states the group “seeks to make clear to the local real estate industry and the public that using an independent mortgage professional is the better choice when looking for home financing.”

Members of the Mortgage Alliance include: Joe Adamaitis with Academy Mortgage Corp.; Leslie Swart, Marci Walker and Geoff Allison with Blue Skye Lending; Joseph Knight and Lill Denham with Gulf Coast Mortgages of Southwest Florida; Sean Martin with Martin Funding Corp.; and Bob Ward with Prospect Mortgage.
