Lincare CFO to resign

CLEARWATER— Lincare Holdings Inc. recently modified employment agreements with two of its executives and announced the retirement of another, the company says in a statement.

Paul G. Gabos, Lincare's CFO, will retire at the end of the year when his employment agreement expires. CEO John P. Byrnes and COO Shawn S. Schabel agreed to contracts extending their employment with the firm through the end of 2014.

Gabos has been the company's CFO since 1997 and has been with the Lincare for almost 20 years, according the statement. Byrnes has been CEO since 1997 and Schabel has been COO since 2001 and president since 2003.

According to Yahoo! Finance, for the 2010 fiscal year Byrnes earned $1.97 million, Schabel earned $1.31 million and Gabos earned $986,000 in salary.

Headquartered in Clearwater, Lincare is one of the nation's largest providers of respiratory therapy and other services to patients in the home, with more than 800,000 customers in the U.S. and Canada.
