BUYER: Sarasota County Public Hospital District, Sarasota

SELLER: Florida Department of Financial Services as receiver for American Keystone Insurance Co.

PROPERTY: 1888 Hillview St., Sarasota

PRICE: $2.13 million

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Williams Parker Harrison Dietz & Getzen, Sarasota

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: The Sarasota County Public Hospital District purchased a 7,902-square-foot medical office building for $2.13 million.

The price equated to $269 per square foot.

The building, which is one-story over covered parking, already houses two Sarasota Memorial Health Care System-owned physician practices. It contains gynecologist and oncologist Dr. James Fiorica and maternal-fetal medicine doctors Dr. Washington Hill and Dr. Felice Baron.

A spokeswoman says the health care system previously leased the building, but that given the drop in real estate values it was decided it was a smart time to invest in the building.
