Southwest Florida hostile territory for Carville

Would you pay $200 to hear James Carville speak?

The Democrat television pundit known as the Ragin' Cajun will be the speaker at the Tiger Bay Club of Southwest Florida annual dinner Sept. 17 in Bonita Springs.

The selection of Carville as a speaker raised some eyebrows in heavily Republican Lee and Collier counties. This isn't exactly friendly territory for Democrat firebrands like Carville.

The Tiger Bay Club says Carville will discuss his analysis of both parties' efforts to win the November elections.

While there's grumbling among some Republican activists about the choice of Carville as a speaker, it hasn't been nearly as vocal as the selection of Donald Trump to speak in Sarasota.
