FORT MYERS — NeoGenomics Inc. plans to expand its laboratory and corporate headquarters, the Fort Myers Regional Partnership and Lee County Economic Development Office announced today.

The three-year expansion project is expected to create 75 jobs with an average salary of $54,000, a news release explains.

The cancer-testing laboratory will receive $435,000 in incentives for the expansion: $300,000 from the state; a 20% match for a total of $60,000 over three years from Lee County; and $75,000 from the Lee County Job Opportunity Program.

"We appreciate the efforts of Governor Scott and Lee County in helping to create a positive, pro-business environment,” Douglas VanOort, chairman and CEO of NeoGenomics says in a release. “This along with access to state and local financial support allows us to continue to expand our headquarters and our main laboratory in Fort Myers.”

NeoGenomics' revenues are up more than 60% during the first two quarters of 2012 compared with the same period last year. Founded in Naples in 2001, the company moved its corporate headquarters and laboratory to Fort Myers in 2003. The company has 127 employees and is publicly traded over the counter (symbol: NGNM, recent price: $2.19).
