OLDSMAR —Networking and communications equipment firm Vology has acquired Sooner Network Solutions, an Oklahoma City-based company.

Terms of the deal, which closed yesterday, weren't disclosed. Sooner Network Solutions specializes in selling high-end networking and communications gear, just like Oldsmar-based Vology.

“As Vology continues to focus on growing both its sales and its geographic footprint, we're always interested in the right acquisition opportunities,” Vology CEO Barry Shevlin says in a release. “Sooner shares our commitment to speed, service, price and reliability.”

Vology has more than $50 million of new and used equipment in inventory, including Cisco, Juniper Networks and HP products. It has clients nationwide, and in 80 countries. The firm raised $32.5 million in 2011 in debt financing and an equity offering.

Shevlin was the Gulf Coast Business Review's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2008. Read more about the company here.
