SARASOTA -- Obscene Jeans Corp. says it is “moving forward in negotiations” to acquire A-Plus Technologies, a social media company, as part of the apparel company's plan to diversify into the technology industry.
A release issued by Obscene Jeans says the company it is targeting is based in California. But while a search for California-based companies named A-Plus Technologies yielded no results, a firm with that name based based in Gainesville was identified. CEO Rachel Stark-Cappelli did not immediately respond to calls for comment.
Through its social media subsidiary Obscene Interactive, Stark-Cappelli's company claims it has signed an option agreement with A-Plus, and will work towards a merger agreement exclusively over the next 90 days.
Stark-Cappelli became CEO of Obscene Jeans Corp. in September. Her company was featured in a July issue of the Gulf Coast Business Review (see “Denim Divas,” July 29).
