A new web application estimates that Florida companies have announced nearly 24,000 future hirings without making job postings available for applicants.

HiddenJobsApp claims to crawl press releases and online media reports for new hiring announcements, adding up those future hiring projections for each of the 50 states. The app says Florida companies have announced 23,598 new positions without making job postings available for applicants -- more than any other state.

All of the “hidden” job announcements are listed at each state's page, along with source information for the number cited. On Florida's page, several companies are listed as having more than 1,000 “hidden” jobs, including Legoland, CSX, and Florida Power & Light.

HiddenJobsApp is owned by AllCountyJobs.com LLC, a Connecticut-based firm that has been operating job boards since 1999.
