FORT MYERS -- Joseph A. Troiano, a lawyer licensed to practice in Florida, pleaded guilty to six counts of wire fraud and one count of mail fraud this week. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years for each offense.
Between 2005 and 2010, Troiano used at least $2.4 million of his clients' money for personal purchases without their consent, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Troiano was indicted by a grand jury in March, after being disbarred in February 2010. He had been practicing law in Florida since 2002 prior to these events.
