John Wiest, who steered the finances of Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers, recently left the hospital group to join PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Tampa.

Wiest is an outspoken hospital executive who shared the title of chief operating officer with Lawrence Antonucci. Since they were both appointed co-COOs in 2009, Wiest was in charge of the system's finances and Antonucci, a physician, oversaw hospital and physician services.

Following Wiest's departure, Jim Nathan, the president of Lee Memorial, named Antonucci sole chief operating officer after Wiest's departure, making him the second-in-command there.
