PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Sarasota-based JCI Jones Chemical has purchased the 7,603-square-foot Rivolta Group headquarters building in downtown Sarasota for $2.3 million.

Jeff Jones, JCI's president and CEO, said the company needed additional space and greater permanence.

“It's difficult to look back on spending over $3 million leasing space with nearly nothing to show for it,” Jones said. “This was a cash deal so we don't have to pay any rent, just property taxes.”

JCI plans to centralize more of its executives in Sarasota from around the world. Built in 2007, the building, at 1765 Ringling Blvd., features two floors of office space over parking.
Jones hopes to move into the new location by or before Labor Day.

JCI Jones Chemical manufactures and distributes water-treatment chemicals worldwide.
