Most motorcycle enthusiasts are content with one or two bikes. Aaron Sprague likes them enough that he purchased an entire dealership.

The St. Petersburg medical services entrepreneur bought Eurocycles of Tampa Bay at 8509 Gunn Highway in Odessa earlier this year from Joe and Crystal MacGuire, who opened the business in 2000. The full-service dealership sells and services luxury high-performance motorcycles including MV Agusta, BMW, Ducati and Triumph, and also offers branded apparel and motorcycle gear.

The acquisition marks the third business venture for Sprague, 37, an Air Force veteran who started his first business, Pope County Imaging, in 2004 in Russellville, Ark. In 2006 he bought Core Medical LLC, based in St. Petersburg, which provides ancillary services to healthcare facilities.

“Not everyone can say that they jump out of bed every morning to go to work and do something they love,” Sprague says, adding that he has a dedicated team and longtime customer base to support the dealership. He anticipates continued strong sales of European-made motorcycles in the Tampa Bay area.

Last year, Sprague traveled around the world on his own BMW Enduro bike. The trip caught the attention of National Geographic Channel in the United Kingdom, which plans to air a special about his trek later this year.
