Despite the overwhelming defeat of a referendum for commuter rail in Hillsborough County last fall, the Tampa Bay Partnership isn't ready to give up just yet.

The eight-county group has established a new website, TampaBayOnTrack.com, that aims to provide the latest information about transit and transportation throughout the region. The site is also an inclusive effort focused on sharing information about the role of transportation in the community and serving as a resource for the latest transportation news and research.

“This site, and the TampaBayOnTrack brand, is an effort to bring all the components of our transportation initiative together under a single umbrella,” says Stuart Rogel, partnership president and CEO. “It will improve our ability to serve as an information resource to our investors and to the public while aiding us in our efforts to advocate for transportation solutions.”

Once the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority completes its master plan update later this year, it will go beyond transit to include highways, airports, seaports, and freight networks that are important at the regional level, a focus that mirrors that of the partnership.
