PROPERTY: 2328 N. Washington Blvd., Sarasota

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: The owners of The Granite Place in Sarasota purchased the 20,068-square-foot former Coastal Chemical Paper Supply building on U.S. 301 for $1.33 million.

The price equated to $66 per square foot.

The Granite Place plans to occupy 11,500 square feet in the building and lease the rest. The Granite Place currently owns a building roughly half the size at 4320 Independence Court, Sarasota. The owners eventually plan to sell or lease that building.

“We didn't have enough space in our current building,” says Nicholas Isil, The Granite Place president. “The location (of the new building) was important too.”

The Granite Place is a wholesale supplier of granite, marble and onyx. Isil says his company has been doing well, largely based on renovation business.

The Granite Place Inc. mortgaged the property to the seller Wilds Land LLC for $1.26 million.
