Stenten's Golf Cart Accessories moving to larger North Port building

PRICE: $997,000

PREVIOUS PRICE: $2.19 million, May 2005

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Marilyn Stenten, owner Stenten's Golf Cart Accessories Inc., purchased a 26,752-square-foot industrial building for $997,000.

The price equated to $37 per square foot. The building was previously owned by Wells Fargo Bank NA, which took it back in November. Stenten plans to move her company, a wholesaler of golf-cart accessories, from a 10,200-square-foot building at 1867 Barber Road, Sarasota to the North Port building.

Leslee Coppock of Keller Williams Realty was the listing Realtor and Jeff Button of Richardson Kleiber Walter Kleiber Button Inc. was the selling Realtor.

“They've been running out of space there for a while,” Button says. “A couple years ago they added a second level, but they were still running out of space. They know they won't fill the new building immediately, but they're buying it for the future.”

Stenten says that the company has added several new product lines and that its customer base has grown as well.

“Our margins aren't the same, but last year was the biggest year we've ever had,” she says. “I attribute it to marketing and our customer service.

Button is listing the Barber Road building for sale for $630,000.
