PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Kansas City, Kan.-based Mel Stevenson & Associates Inc. purchased a 24,190-square-foot distribution building in Billy Creek Commerce Center for $1.53 million.

The price equated to $63 per square foot.

Bill Vernay International Moving Co. previously used the building for storage.

Officials with Mel Stevenson & Associates, which operates as Spec Building Materials Corp., declined to comment. The company currently operates an office from 5683 Corporation Circle, Fort Myers.

Spec Building Materials is a building materials supplier to home improvement contractors.
