FORT MYERS -- Chico's FAS Inc. (symbol: CHS) selected Gora/McGahey Architects for the planning and design of its latest expansion.

The new building will offer 146,000 square feet of space, and will be situated on Chico's 60-acre main campus at 11215 Metro Parkway in Fort Myers.

Earlier this month, Chico's announced it would receive $3.26 million in financial incentives from local and state government organizations to support its expansion. Lee County officials said the expansion promised to add 150 new net jobs to the local economy, with the average new hire earning $75,333 in salary.

Gora/McGahey is also based in Fort Myers, and is headquartered at 43 Barkley Circle. Principals Bruce Gora and Dan McGahey have been working together since 1985, four years after the firm was founded as Bruce T. Gora, AIA Architect.
