TAMPA -- Frank and Carol Morsani donated $20 million to the University of South Florida this week to support upgrades to its medical school.

The university's medical school will now be known as the Morsani College of Medicine, to honor the pair's philanthropy.

Frank Morsani is the former chairman of Automotive Investments, which buys and sells auto dealerships. When he became chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1985, the company generated more than $140 million in annual sales. He has also been a member of the USF Foundation Board of Trustees since 1995.

Carol Morsani has been involved with the continued successes of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. A 2,160-seat hall within the center is named for her.
