PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Fort Worth, Texas-based D.R. Horton recently made a large investment in two Southwest Florida communities.
The national homebuilder purchased 92 lots in Banyan Bay in Fort Myers for $3.27 million, which equated to $35,500 per lot. A day later, D.R. Horton purchased 11 lots in the Fiddler's Creek community in Naples for $1.1 million, equal to $100,000 per lot.
The company says it was attracted to both of the properties because of their central locations and easy access to retail, restaurants and the beaches, according to Lindsey M. Pierson, who handles marketing for the company in Southwest Florida. Further, Pierson says D.R. Horton is already building homes at Catalina Isle, near Banyan Bay, where it has six homes remaining to sell.
Both model home construction and sales are scheduled to start in December at Fiddler's Creek. At Banyan Bay, work has already started on the model home.
The homebuilder plans to offer floor plans in Banyan Bay ranging from 1,804 to 3,552 square feet and starting in the low $200,000s. In Fiddler's Creek, D.R. Horton will be offering a total of five floor plans with prices expected to start in the mid-$300,000s.
