Park Royal Hospital hires top administrator
David Harrod has been named chief administrative officer for Park Royal Hospital, a new 76-bed mental health facility in Fort Myers scheduled to open in January. The private hospital is in the final phase of construction on the HealthPark Medical Center campus.

Harrod helped launch the Senior Behavioral Center at Lee Memorial in 2008 and has served as chief operating officer since operations began in January 2009. The 15-bed unit will transition over to the freestanding Park Royal Hospital once construction is complete.

Harrod previously served as vice president of operations for Cambridge International, regional vice president of operations for Psychiatric Management Resources and vice president of development for Psychiatric Institutes of America.

Valpak Direct Marketing partners on Web with Savings.com
Largo-based Valpak Direct Marketing Systems Inc. has partnered with Savings.com to offer more than 20,000 online coupons from national brands and retailers on Valpak.com.

In addition to Valpak's free local online coupons, Savings.com offers tens of thousands of promo codes for savings on apparel, electronics, travel and more.

Blockbuster joint venture hires Savtira for distribution
NetMovies, an Internet movie service, has chosen Tampa-based Savtira Corp. to construct its Web cloud commerce platform.

Founded by John Fanning, who is also the founding chairman and CEO of the peer-to-peer music file sharing system Napster, NetMovies is a digital delivery joint venture with Blockbuster LLC. The company offers downloads, videos-on-demand, streaming via subscription-based accounts, à la carte purchases, download-to-own and movie rental purchase all in both physical and digital form.

“Savtira's platform was exactly what we were looking for to complete the infrastructure for NetMovies,” says Fanning. “The strong social media impact of the NetMovies' site amplifies the power of the services and products Savtira has pioneered and we are excited to get started.”

Savtira will create and operate a digital distribution network for NetMovies.

NetMovies is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2012.

Chico's FAS board authorizes buyback and dividend
The board of directors of Fort Myers-based Chico's FAS Inc. has authorized the company to buy back up to $200 million of the company's outstanding common stock.

The program replaces the now cancelled $200 million buyback program that had $24.2 million remaining.

At the same time, the company announced a 5 cent cash dividend for shareholders of its common stock. The dividend will by paid on Dec. 19 for shareholders of record as of Dec. 5.

The retailer reported its profit for the quarter ended Oct. 29 fell to $26.47 million (16 cents per share) compared with the $28.84 million (16 cents per share) it saw for the same period ended Oct. 30, 2010.

The company operates 604 boutiques and 83 outlets throughout the U.S., publishes a monthly catalog and offers online shopping at www.chicos.com.

Comprehensive Care Corp. signs deal with Essence Healthcare
Tampa-based Comprehensive Care Corp. has signed a new service agreement with Essence Healthcare to provide managed behavioral health and pharmacy management services to the Medicare Advantage population serviced by Essence Healthcare in Missouri, Washington and Illinois.

Under the agreement, CompCare will provide Essence Healthcare enrollees with integrated behavioral health and a specialized pharmacy management program for psychotropic medications. CompCare's services will start next year.

“Our new agreement with Essence Healthcare reflects the increasing demand we have seen for our innovative behavioral health and pharmacy programs,” Clark Marcus, CompCare's chairman and CEO, says in a press release. “These programs are designed to improve behavioral medication prescribing practices, enhance medication adherence, improve outcomes via integration and coordination of care and generally reduce overall costs.”

William C. Huff Moving, Storage renamed William C. Huff Cos.
Naples-based logistics provider William C. Huff Moving and Storage has renamed and rebranded itself as the William C. Huff Cos. in a move designed to highlight the additional services it provides.

Along with its moving trucks and services, the company owns and operates air-conditioned/climate controlled storage facilities in Barrington, N.H., and Naples. These facilities offer more than 53,000 square feet of storage space.

The company specializes in concierge services for high net worth homeowners, builders, designers, architects and estate managers. In addition, the company can also serve as an art shuttle and as specialized antique/heirloom handlers. It has also partnered with Stevens Worldwide Van Lines to allow the company to assist in moves and storage arrangements for clients worldwide.

Jim Henderson bought the business in 1988.
