YBOR CITY — USAmeriBank is adding a branch location to its network of offices in Ybor City, moving into the building formerly occupied by Columbia Bank at 2028 E. Seventh Ave. The bank will begin operating there in December, the bank says in a release.

USAmeriBank will move 14 employees to the new branch, including an eight-person small business lending team. Additionally, insurance agency Connelly, Carlisle, Fields & Nichols, a partner of USAmeriBank's, will open an office there with 15 employees.

The 11,800-square-foot building, first constructed in 1936, is currently being renovated, USAmeriBank says.

In connection with the opening of the new office, USAmeriBank added three new employees, each coming over from BB&T: M.G. “Manny” Alvarez Jr., community affairs director; Shari Middleton, branch manager; and Milly Suarez, assistant bank manager.

In June, USAmeriBank said it would be adding up to eight employees to expand its mortgage lending operations. The Largo-based bank manages more than $1 billion in assets.
