TAMPA — Southern Graphics Systems Inc. (SGS) recently took over the business of Photoengraving Inc., a Tampa-based graphics firm. According to the agreement, SGS will lease Photoengraving's 16,000-square-foot facility in Tampa, and will retain all 33 of Photoengraving's former employees.

SGS also expects to hire between five and 10 additional employees “as the business expands,” a statement says.

Headquartered in Louisville, Ky., SGS is an international graphics company with more than 2,000 employees as of Dec. 31. The company generated $352 million in net sales last year.

SGS says it will invest $1.2 million into equipment purchases and building improvements to upgrade its newly acquired operation.
