BUYER: Greyhawk Landing West LLC (principal: Richard Rodgers), Venice

SELLER: Joseph and Georgia Aleppo, as co-trustee of the Aurora Foundation

PROPERTY: 12705 E. State Road 64, Bradenton

PRICE: $1.04 million

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Icard Merrill Cullis Timm Furen & Ginsburg PA, Sarasota

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Sam Rodgers Homes and Homes by Towne purchased 60 acres near GreyHawk Landing east of Interstate 75 for $1.04 million.

The price equated to $17,400 per acre.

The homebuilder partners acquired the property to enlarge their planned second phase of GreyHawk Landing.

“Previously we bought 250 acres there [for GreyHawk West],” says Sam Rodgers, owner of Sam Rodgers Homes. “This was a piece the Aurora Foundation was planning to retain, but when they decided to sell we had the right of first refusal.”

The 60-acre addition will allow the partners another 89 units for a total of 480 planned housing units for the expansion of GreyHawk Landing.

Rogers hopes to start construction on the first phase of the expansion in three or four months. He expects to have lots prepared by the first part of 2012.
