The trustees overseeing two charity wine festivals — one in Naples and another in Fort Myers — gave away more than $9 million recently.
The 900-pound gorilla of Bacchanalian hobnobs, the Naples Winter Wine Festival, handed $7.9 million in gifts to 22 charities. Big winners were the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County ($1 million) and Collier Health Under Guided Systems ($1.05 million).
In Fort Myers, the Southwest Florida Wine Festival gave $1.25 million to The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida.
Cheers to that.
