In Texas, taking a man's gun away is serious business.

Just ask Jerry Williams, the former chairman, CEO and president of Naples-based Orion Bank who was indicted recently on charges alleging bank fraud.

Conditions of his release filed in U.S. District Court in Fort Myers following his arrest on March 31 specifically state that Texas-born Williams can't possess a firearm and must refrain from excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Williams, who posted $250,000 in bond, also is restricted to his home in east Texas and travel to Fort Myers. He may also travel to Washington, D.C., to meet with his attorney, but such travel must be approved in advance by court officials. His passport was taken away.
