Family Dollar Stores buys leased Bradenton store

SELLER: FD Manatee Partners LLC

PROPERTY: 1525 E. Manatee Ave., Bradenton

PRICE: $1.69 million

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Matthews, N.C.-based Family Dollar Stores Inc. purchased a 9,180-square-foot existing Family Dollar building for $1.69 million.

The price equated to $185 per square foot.

The retail chain previously leased the two-year-old building.

“We felt like it was something we couldn't pass up and solidifies our long-term commitment to the community,” says Josh Braverman, public relations manager for Family Dollar.

Founded in 1959, Family Dollar Stores operates more than 6,600 stores in 44 states.
