BUYER: Family Dollar Stores of Florida Inc., Charlotte, N.C.

SELLER: FD Sligh LLC

PROPERTY: 6825 N. 22nd St., Tampa

PRICE: $1.51 million

PREVIOUS PRICE: $425,000, October 2007

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Mary Sue Beeler, Esq., Clearwater

PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Matthews, N.C.-based Family Dollar Stores Inc. purchased a 9,116-square-foot Family Dollar store for $1.51 million.

The price equated to $165 per square feet.

The building, which occupies a 1.29-acre site near the corner of North 22nd Street and East Sligh Avenue, was built in 2008. The building was originally designed and constructed for Family Dollar.

The discount retailer has been buying many of its leased locations. It purchased a two-year-old Family Dollar store building on Manatee Avenue in Bradenton for $1.69 million last month, for example.

Josh Braverman, a spokesman for Family Dollar Stores, says the acquisitions solidify the retailer's commitment to be in the community for the long term.
