Sam's Club buys land in Riverview Bell Plaza


BUYER: Sam's East Inc., Bentonville, Ark.


SELLER: DD Riverview LLC


PROPERTY: on Big Bend Road west of U.S. 301, Riverview


PRICE: $5.2 million


PREVIOUS PRICE: $7.5 million, November 2006


LAW FIRM ON DEED: GrayRobinson PA, Tampa


PLANS, DESCRIPTION: Bentonville, Ark.-based Sam's Club purchased 13.27 acres in the proposed Riverview Bell Plaza area from DeBartolo Development for $5.2 million. The purchase price equated to $391,861 per acre.


Michelle Azel Belaire, declined comment for this story. Sam's Clubs are typically 132,000 square feet and employ 175 people.


The 300,000-square-foot phase I of Riverview Bell Plaza will feature the Sam's Club, Walgreens and Burger King. Phase II, which was completed in 2008, includes an Applebee's restaurant, Sonic drive-in, Amscot, Tuffy Auto, Village Inn and The Alley bowling alley.
