Florida Living Options files Hawthorne site plan

Assisted-living facility owner and operator Florida Living Options has filed a site plan to develop its Hawthorne Manor skilled nursing facility on the five acres at the southeast corner of DeSoto Road and Honore Avenue in Sarasota.

The company purchased the site at 5450 DeSoto Road, Sarasota in August for $3.25 million. Florida Living Options plans to create a two-story 120-bed, 46,222-square-foot skilled-nursing facility. Deborah Franklin, director of operations for Florida Living Options, says that the new facility will be designed appeal to baby boomers and that it would not look institutional.

GAP Engineering and Planning LLC in Sarasota is handling the engineering for the project.
