New president for Cox/Valpak

Michael Vivio will become the next president of Cox Target Media/Valpak in January 2011. He will replace Greg Bicket, who is retiring at the end of this year.

Vivio served previously as publisher of the Austin American-Statesman, and as CEO of the Statesman Co. The Texas Associated Press Managing Editors named the Statesman as Texas' Best Metro Newspaper last spring.

Cox Media Group Executive Vice President Doug Franklin endorsed Vivio in a release, calling him “an innovative leader with an excellent track record in media sales, marketing and digital business.”
