TECO names Ramil CEO

The board of directors at TECO Energy Inc. named John B. Ramil as CEO. Ramil succeeds Sherrill W. Hudson, who held the position of chief executive for more than six years, while also serving as board chairman.

Ramil has been serving as chief operating officer and president for six years as well, as both men were named to their current positions in July 2004.

Hudson will continue as chairman of the board through December 2012, a release said, and plans to retire shortly thereafter.
