Gov. Charlie Crist has appointed Darla Furst, a managing broker with Sarasota-based Michael Saunders and Company, to the Florida Real Estate Commission, according to a release.
Furst will become one of seven members on the Commission, which is responsible for the administration and enforcement of Florida real estate license law, and serves in an advisory role to recommend changes to those laws.
The 2006 recipient of the Sarasota Association of Realtors' Realtor of the Year Award has been a licensed real estate broker since 1976, and has been with Michael Saunders and Co. since 2000.
The appointment will take effect as soon as it is confirmed by the Florida State Senate, and will remain in place through Oct. 31, 2012.
